Wrinkle Erasers

“When I look in the mirror, I want to feel like I look as good as I feel. And if you can have something done to feel more confident and better about yourself, then you feel like your face matches your spirit—and my spirit is enthusiastic and energetic.” Christie Brinkley on Xeomin

Xeomin

What it does:

Botulinum toxin (BTX) is a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and related species. It prevents the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from axon endings at the neuromuscular junction and thus causes flaccid paralysis.

When either BTX is injected in a prescribed muscle, it will smooth wrinkles and prevent them for worsening into deep creases. Vertical and horizontal wrinkles are treated by prescription for skin smoothness.

Who is a candidate:

Anyone. Written consents that you will sign prior to treatment explain very clearly if this treatment is for you. Clients with the “11” creases between the eyes get excellent, more youthful, results with minimum injections.

What it costs:

$12 per unit for Xeomin. A typical “relaxant” prescription is 20 to 30 units.

How to prep:

Your MedSpa Aesthetic injector will remove makeup and sanitize your skin. Reducing us of aspirin and alcohol for days before can reduce bleeding and bruising.

What to expect during your procedure:

SHOTS! Some bleeding and possible bruising. A localized swelling that looks like a mosquito bite or simply nothing.

What to expect after your procedure:

Once muscles are injected, they will freeze like a “claw” has grabbed them. There are areas that are NOT injected and both injected areas and untouched areas have to get along. We will see both settle in about 10-14 days. We recommend making a free follow-up reservation just for needed tweaking or in case you were under treated for your desired result.

PDO Thread Lift

What it does

A thread lift is a type of MINAMINALLY INVASIVE procedure performed by our Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner wherein temporary sutures are used to produce a subtle but visible "lift" in the skin. Instead of removing the patient's loose facial skin surgically, the cosmetic nurse simply suspends it by stitching up portions of it. This has the effect of pulling the skin back slightly and therefore lifting and tightening the face. In addition to being ideal for lifting the skin, threads combat aging in another way: by provoking the body's "healing response" and causing the body to direct large surges of collagen to treated areas. This is important because of the vital role collagen plays in the supportive aging process.

Who is a candidate?

The ideal thread lift candidate is usually in his or her late thirties to early fifties, whereas most patients over the age of about 55 will benefit more profoundly from facelift surgery. PDO Thread lifts can, however, provide a facelift alternative for older patients who are unable to have surgery for medical reasons

What it costs

One supportive barbed thread cost $250.00. Multiple threads are used and there is a charge for each one. Non-barbed threads are also available to achieve collagen stimulus.

How to prep?

If you have any outstanding health conditions, make sure to talk to your doctor about whether or not a thread lift might be right for you.

What to expect during the procedure

Thread lifts are performed anesthetic nerve block, rather than general anesthesia, meaning that thread lift patients can drive themselves home and look after themselves immediately after having their procedure.

What to expect afterward

While some patients will experience a little bit of soreness, redness, and swelling after having a thread lift and therefore wish to take the rest of the day off, most can return to work immediately. Strong pain medication is seldom needed after having a thread lift, making it easier for patients to return to their normal routine. This procedure is therefore ideal for people who have children at home or those who have busy, demanding careers.
